Waukee 28, Valley, West Des Moines 6 (First game of year)
Waukee 12, Valley, West Des Moines 0 (Quarterfinals)

Waukee beat Valley twice. I understand Valley beat Dowling, but I think Waukee's 2 wins over Valley would put them ahead of Valley IMO.

Ankeny 42, Lewis Central 28

I see no possible justification for Lewis Central ranked ahead of Ankeny.

The original post rankings are absurd... Here is what I think the final rankings should look like.

1. Dowling Catholic - (13-1)
2. Waukee - (11-2)
3. WDM Valley - (10-2)
4. CR Washington - (13-1)
5. Ankeny - (9-3)
6. Bettendorf - (12-1)
7. Lewis Central - (9-2)
8. Johnston - (7-4)
9. North Scott - (9-3)
10. Iowa City West - (7-5)

1. Dowling
2. Waukee
3. Valley
4. CR Washington
5. Bettendorf
6. Ankeny
7. Johnston
8. Lewis Central
9. IC West
10. Centennial

I think that Wash and Bett are a toss up versus Waukee and Valley and could probably beat the rest of the west, Dowling is just that good

What is even more absurd is Jen 44 Rankings across all classes from the 1A board. With the exception of Dowling, Jen put IC Regina in front of all the 4As.

Interesting, on the 4A poll Jen ranks Valley over Waukee and on the other poll of all teams Waukee over Valley.

5. WDM Valley, 10-2, 4A Quarter-Finalist

Thoughts?

I really don't think people understand the discrepancy between the top 5 in 4A and the rest of the state. I'm not going to argue the fact that many of the smaller class schools couldn't have made the playoffs in an "all class" playoff system, some may have even won a few games in the playoffs. I think Lewis Central demonstrated that this year coming from 3A into 4A, but as soon as they ran into any of the elite programs it got ugly. That would hold true for anyone else in these "all class" rankings. There is not a team in any other class that would have been a Semi-Finalist at the 4A level.
